It may be the ultimate understatement to say that grace is taking the very worst day of the thief’s life and transforming it into the promise of the very best day possible.
Paradise is still a promise to the thieves, but just one thief can count on it. Hope is not wishful thinking. It is what is possible. The potential and possibility to achieve it is real. Hopelessness, despair, are a state of believing your present will be your future. This despair can often lead to angry and hurtful words and actions. Hope is believing that even in our darkest moments, because of grace, our hope abounds.
Grace = a reversal-out of despair comes hope, a promise realized. God has the final word.
Grace is received by trusting it is true and then living accordingly.
Thoughts to ponder:
Do you believe you will join Jesus in paradise?
Is heaven just wishful thinking, or is it a promise we can count on?
How does our affirmation of joining Jesus in paradise influence our daily lives?
