Station 13 – I Commend my Spirit

Life, as we know it from our birth to our death, is a series of receiving the new and dying to the old. Transitions are a way of life. Do we commend our spirit into God’s hands so God can help us transition into the fullness of each new phase of life? Do we resist the change, or do we embrace it as we know grace is leading us into the saving grace of God?

Faith means I trust God will do the best that is possible for me as I journey through the many experiences and phases of my life.

These experiences of knowing God throughout our journey of life provides the basis for our trust in our final phase of life on earth. We have allowed the unfailing love of God to be an ongoing presence which enables us to build our ability to trust in this last transition to new life.

What is sad is those who have not had the joy of knowing God’s grace in the living of their lives, now often find themselves anxious about what this final phase may hold for them.

Thoughts to ponder:

Are there moments you have experienced the presence of God without a doubt? Do these moments allow you to freely offer your spirit to God in hope and anticipation?
